Fantastic

Excellent rendering, keep up the work in fractals.

(P.S. It would be just 5% better if you antialiased your image.)

Viamede responds:

i agree, low res versions of this look much better because there aren't any stray white pixels. wish i knew how to fix it :3

Very Pixar

This is one of those really interesting shots where you double-think yourself into enjoying looking at it. I mean, we're not fooled: this is clearly a 3D model, but our minds look past that and become so engrossed in the characters and their actions that the medium is completely moot. The use of only four colors (white, grey, blue, red) in your materials is also very nice, and the models are actually pretty low-detail, but the image is still so captivating. I really like it!

dimitrikozma responds:

Thanks m1kclark!
I really appreciate your review. So complete and joyful! :-)

Awesome!

To have that model at all is really an achievement. Doing it as a low-poly model? That's genius. Well done!

Woah!

Seriously, if you put a photo in the background, then I don't know if I would have noticed this was 3D and not a photo. The reflection map on the silver is great: really real looking. The only things that don't look exactly right (and I can't even say why) is the wood on the receiver and the cord. But the flaw is not so noticeable that I would have noticed with a good background. Awesome!

MarcyVF responds:

Thanks! :)
I hhave to credit Dave Davidson for the great awesome reflective material. But materials in 3D is really really hard! I don't know how I should have made the wood better. Maybe a clearer wood texture? Larger specular? Experimenting...

Looks like flash

I would call this a good model for a flash-based game, but it's lacking some detail as a static picture. Also, regarding the fur/hair color issue, you should do one of two things: complete blend, or high-contrast. This is neither, and seems out of place. Either her foxiness is part of her nature, or it's an add-on to the human character. This in-between coloring strikes me as afterthought instead of purpose.

Maszrum responds:

Yeah, well. It's a request. I myself am not so fond of and enthusiastic about drawing furries. So you see the result of this.

Imagery

Wonderfully sexy, refreshingly simple in its delivery. I like the sword, both as an object and as a symbol.

Maszrum responds:

Thank you. Notice also the placing/position of the sword. ;)

Fantastic concept

I like this piece a lot, particularly the idea. Excellent color contrast. The stark difference between the objects and the amorphous background.

One comment: you can see the polygons on the human figure. They should be smoothed out because, right now, they distract the audience and remind everyone that this was rendered by a computer.

gleegleep responds:

Thank you for the review. I'm glad you like this! And thanks for the suggestion about smoothing the human figure.

Teen Titans style?

(NFT)

I was going to say ...

that it lacked humanity. Then I read your description, and I applaud you since that was what you were going for! The grainy quality is really nice, and even thought the model is simple, the tone is well-considered and well-excuted. Great!

BenTibbetts responds:

Thank you!

Pretty!

This is a really awesome image. The color contrast is really nice, and I love the glassy-mushroom effect. Good stuff!

I don't spend much time here anymore, but it's nice to see the site still with its wide spread of user-generated content.
