Awesome, but

Awesome image, but you didn't add light sources for the flames! The material should have some orangy reflections on it! :-P

eagle3000 responds:

Yeah, I figured that out after 2 hours of rendering! xD I was too lazy to go back...

Nice!

I saw your "8 balls" image first. This image, by comparison, tries to do less than "8 balls" but it does each thing better. That wood texture is fantastic, even if it is a built-in, and again you have a knack for choosing the exactly right surface reflectivity. :-)

eagle3000 responds:

Thanks :) The "8 Balls" was done later, but I was quick about it, I made it just to test Z Depth Of Field... :)

Great idea, imperfectly executed

The models and shadows of the piks are great. Unforunately, I think the image is totally dominated by the photo of the leaf and it overshadows the 3D stuff you've done. The audience will see the leaf first and the characters second, and I'm guessing that wasn't the point.

pupuhugr responds:

I understand your thoughts on this, but placing the pikmin in the center is just ordinary and boring. I was working with rule of 3rds here. Plus, if people look at this image, and all they see is a leaf, when there are three Pikmin standing to the side, I think Ive done my job :p.

Double image?

This style reminds me of those double-image drawings, for example the one that can look like a young woman turned away, or an old woman facing forward.
For a ten-minute drawing, it has all the important points, and this technique would make for an animation that would be easy to do but captivating to watch.

krissalus responds:

I love those double-image pictures, although I don't think I'd be able to figure out how to draw one on my own XD Glad you like this, though. And interesting idea about making a flash in this style. I never even thought of that. I might give it a try, see what I get out of it. Thanks!!

Boobs + no boobs

For the gayest painting you've ever done, it's awfully hetero. Besides, the colors and minimalist form are awesome.

Gaz-Metal responds:

Thank you, kind sir.

Excellent details

The eagle, hands, and banner all have fantastic details and look realistic. The logo structure is a bit odd: I'm not sure what the hands are doing, or what the cropped banner is about. The white background also seems out of place when the eagle and hands are so highly detailed.
(P.S. Ignore the guy Armoniascuro below me. Even if he had a valid complaint in his head, that review isn't worth the pixels used to display it.)

ramymagdy responds:

thx man ... already did .... I know that the meaning of the logo is not obvious because the conflict and the situation in my country is unknown to all of u ... I just put this one so that u can give me ur opinions about the details that's all ...thank u

Color context

The previous coloring style gave your art a more "hyper-real" sense, where this is more toned down, not necessarily realistic but less hyperbole. The duller tones make the irony in this picture (I love the ice cream in the right pic) more like a quiet joke in a British movie. Meanwhile, your guru and various torture pics are a little more in-your-face on the order of Jackass 3D. I think playing around with the color allows you to pick your flavor a little better, and will give your portfolio in general more depth. Cheers to Shadman.

TheShadling responds:

Cheers mate.

Dark Tower

Reminds me strongly of the more abstract art images that accompany Stephen King's Dark Tower series. Which is a strong compliment!

<deleted> responds:

indeed! i love the dark tower. thanks for the kind words dude.

Half way

Everything made of metal looks spectacular (that's a "specular" pun!).

For everything else, I have only one word: BEVEL. Keep it up, German.

HermanThaGerman responds:

Tried to bevel it but it didnt work out correctly for some reason P:

thanks for the feedback!

Uncanny Valley

You should look up "Uncanny Valley" on Google. Briefly, the face needs to be more realistic or more cartoonish, because in its current state it looks frankly creepy. It's also obvious in places that this has few polygons, and the "smoothing" around the low-poly objects looks awkward (like on her bangs, or her hairbow). This is a good first draft, so to speak, but it does need work in the details.

adamkav responds:

haha I know the uncanny valley well, your right too, she has fallen in there. I messed up her hair with soft selection and couldn't get it back, might just remodel the hair altogether.

I don't spend much time here anymore, but it's nice to see the site still with its wide spread of user-generated content.
